WELCOME TO FREEDOM CHURCH
A HEART FOR COMMUNITY
A PLACE WHERE GOD DWELLS
A RESOURCE CENTRE
We are so glad you found us and decided to check us out online.
We are Trevor and Susie Harrington and together we have been leading Freedom Church for the past 7 years. We are a local church with a BIG vision and our heart for each and every person at Freedom Church is that they are encouraged and challenged to grow in their relationship with Jesus as they become a part of our church family.
We meet every Sunday morning at 10am on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds in the village of Great Barton. Our services are informal and friendly with a contemporary style of worship and teaching that is centred on the presence of God and applicable to 21st century life.
We'd love to meet you and welcome you at one of our church services or events in the future. Just come along with your friends and family and see what Freedom Church is all about!
Have a blessed day,
Trevor and Susie

"Clusters" are our way of connecting with one another at a more personal level in small groups, helping us grow in our faith and friendship with each other. Every group has a different emphasis and focus and meet at different times to suit the needs of one another.
Groups meet for a range of activities from conventional bible study and prayer to more social and interest based gatherings. Our clusters currently include:
The Equipping Cluster
Maple Green Cluster
Praying for the Persecuted Church Cluster
Integrous Business Cluster
Albanian Mission Prayer Cluster
Tabletop Games Cluster
Prophetic Prayer Cluster
House on a Hill Cluster

OUR VISION AND MISSION
The mission of Freedom church is summed up as "transforming people who don’t know Jesus into wholehearted disciples who do" as that was what Jesus himself commissioned his church to do in Matthew 28:19-20 "making disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."
It has been such a delight recently to see people coming to faith in Jesus and choosing to be baptised and the ministry of making disciples and teaching Gods word is an ongoing one.
The threefold vision, that God has given us, is the means by which we see the mission being accomplished; by establishing this church as having and being:
1) A Heart for Community
2) A Place where God dwells
3) A Resource Centre.
In short, Community, Presence, Resource - "CPR" - a life saving procedure!

MORE ABOUT US...
We are a mixed group of people that are all at varying stages of exploring a journey of faith, who gather together out of a common desire to worship God and live out our Christian Faith in a way that is relevant to the world we are all a part of. As a result of doing that journey together we recognise that change is inevitable and experience tells us that by allowing Jesus to be at the heart of those changes we gain a fresh purpose and enthusiasm for life which is summed up by our mission statement: “transforming people who don’t know Jesus into whole hearted disciples who do”.
We meet in a village setting and are blessed to be able to bless our local community with the facilities we have but we are more than just a village church in outlook and impact, being involved in initiatives, ministries & missions in the local area, nationally and internationally. Freedom Church is part of an international network of churches and christian ministries known as Skylark International Community.
Our main meeting of the week starts each Sunday at 10am lasting for around 90 minutes. The service style is informal and participative with a mix of people leading. We use a combination of contemporary music and some more widely known hymns played by the band. Dress code is more jeans and sweatshirts than best suits and we hope that you will find a friendly welcome and be happy to stay for a decent cup of coffee afterwards. There are age related activities for children each Sunday and a number of other activities going on throughout the week.
